Dear Children’s Church/ Kids Club Families,
I am excited to welcome you to the New Year and a fun-filled January!
The “Heroes of Faith” teaching series is a great opportunity for our children to discover some of those people found in the Bible that are great Bible heroes. The program will inspire them to realize just how they can be a hero too, by trusting God and having faith in him.
Hebrews 11:1 King James Version (KJV)
11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
This series is a five part series and will be combined with Children’s Church and Kids Club with a Superhero Sunday to follow at the end of the month! The final session, “Jesus You’re My Superhero” is a great session to end. On Superhero Sunday children will be encouraged to come dressed as superheroes while we discuss why Jesus is the greatest Superhero!
Our first session will be during our Children’s Church service Sunday, January 13th, during the Church Service. We will be starting with “Abraham Makes His Move”. We will be discussing the call on Abraham’s life, teaching the importance of hearing and obeying God so that they may learn to trust and obey no matter their age.
The next session will continue at our first Kids Club Wednesday, January 16th. Our new Kids Club hours will be 4:00 pm- 5:15 pm. The first half of this session, we will have access to the whole gymnasium. Our superheroes in training need lots of space to fly in our new games!
Each week there will be a new superhero! Children will be able memorize scripture, attend Children’s Church and Kids Club, bring a friend, and have kind fellowship with their peers to earn the title “Superhero of the Week”. The Superhero of the week will have their picture on the wall and win a prize!
We hope to have some fun family nights throughout the year and some bigger events such as our annual Tea Party and Nerf War. Bringing families together within the ministry of our children, I believe, is a very important part of their growth in Jesus Christ. Our children will learn by our actions.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 New International Version (NIV)
6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Look forward to some fun info about our upcoming VBS and Kids Camp! Let’s just say we will be up in space and marching in God’s army this summer! GET READY FOR SOME FUN!!
Also, remember to pray for your child’s ministry as we share with them the love of Jesus and how to deepen their walk with him. I encourage you to walk along side of them and study with them the scriptures that we will study and share with them in the stories that we will be learning at Children’s Church and Kids Club.
Proverbs 22:6 New International Version (NIV)
6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
