Kids Camp 2019
Dear Parents,
I would like to start this letter with a HUGE THANK YOU!!!! Thank you for allowing me the privilege to disciple your children these last eight months. It has been such a blessing for my family and me. Your children are truly living their best life walking with Jesus. Their hearts are full of His love and they desire more of Him and the wisdom that He so willingly gives us. Thank you for assisting at Kids Club, Children’s Church, VBS and our upcoming Kids Camp. We have such an amazing group of parents always willing to help and give of their time.
We will be heading up to Blue Slide Camp in a few weeks for Kids Camp. The theme this year will be a perfect end to what we have been studying throughout this year. CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS: “They will know we are CHRISTIANS by our LOVE.” Through our studies of understanding God’s power, learning to walk the walk and share the FAITH, learning to BUILD upon our own FAITH, and then Trusting God with our LIFE, we end with showing God’s LOVE to others. It’s not enough to just say that we are CHRISTIANS. We have to live that out each and every day through our actions. What better way to do that but to show JESUS to others, to be JESUS to others around us.
Our scripture for the week is John 13:35, “Your LOVE for one another will prove to the WORLD that you are my DISCIPLES.” As Christians, we have this amazing job to go out and tell the good news! How can we do that if we are not showing love to those around us? I am excited to announce that Pastor Makayla Johnson will be speaking at Kids Camp this week. She has already began preparing some awesome messages to share with our campers.
We will also have our new Youth Pastor, Caleb Johnson, as a camp counselor and learning the ropes so that he can run the camp next year. 😊 We are so very excited to have them both apart of the Nazarene church family and for them to take on children, junior, and senior high ministries. Remember to say hi and get to know these two as you are dropping off kids at camp and signing up campers in the church office. I know they are looking forward to get to know all of our church family.
I will be officially passing on the baton to Pastor Caleb after Kids Camp in August. I know that he is ready to keep the children’s ministry program growing and moving forward. Both Pastor Caleb and Makayla will be an asset to our children, youth and church. Continue to volunteer and help out where you can to give them that extra edge, to make things awesome and amazing for the kids and youth in our church and community.
Thank you, again, for such a fun and wonderful year as your Interim Children’s Ministry Director. It truly was a blessing, and I am grateful for the opportunity. If I can leave you with one note, please remember how amazing and special the children in our church, community and those to come are. Remember their gifts that I shared with you each Sunday. Remember to encourage and pray for them. These children truly are the future, and we owe them all the support, love, kindness and encouragement that we can give them.
Sincerely,
Nicole Johnson
